"The Walking Dead is what originally got me into the comic/graphic novel genre, and really pop culture and collectibles in general. Robert Kirkman has been a big creative inspiration throughout my career, so it made this all feel pretty full circle. One of my favorite things about the graphic novel is the grungy monochromatic art style, and I wanted to bring that to life with the board design and make sure it felt true to the source material. When I was conceptualizing the design, I wanted it to look like a page from the graphic novel, but have it seem like the Walkers are breaking into reality through the board. The black and white Walker hands are reaching through the frame, and I utilized the woodgrain of the board to bring some extra dimension to Lucille. And of course, I had to finish it off with the only acceptable color pop... blood spatter. I'm stoked to be a part of the Walking Dead collectibles universe, and can't wait for the fans at SDCC to see these boards in person." - Bear Walker
